Program Resources & Activities
Physics graduate students have access to many departmental and campus resources, including:
- Weekly colloquium talks by leading scientists from around the world, aimed at beginning graduate students
- Topical seminars, in every physics subfield with active research efforts at the UW
- The Frontiers of Physics Public Lecture Series, bringing renowned scientists to the UW to offer evening public lectures on exciting advances in physics, aimed at the general public
- Department social activities, such as the monthly Final Friday Fling, annual barbecue and other activities organized by the Physics Graduate Student Council
- Student lounge areas and meeting places in the Physics-Astronomy Building
